Services

Services are held on Sunday mornings, except for occasional afternoon services such as on Whit Sunday and our Christmas Carol Service.  Refreshments are served after each service to provide opportunity for people to talk, share thoughts and news and get to know one another.  All are welcome.
Morning service

Day: Sunday

Time: 10.30 - 11.30 am

Services are led by visiting ministers and lay preachers, and occasionally by members of the congregation.

The current service format tends towards a traditional 'hymn sandwich', including (usually) four hymns, prayers, silent meditation, music, readings and an address.

Musical accompaniment is usually on the piano, with occasional organ music.  The choir leads the singing and usually provides an introit.

We use the green hymn book, Hymns for Living, and the purple hymn book, Sing Your Faith.

Rites of Passage

Rites of Passage services mark the special occasions on our life journey.  They are times when family and friends come together to welcome, celebrate and mourn one of their own.

How we celebrate these occasions should feel meaningful and fulfilling.  For this reason, we will work with each family or individual to construct a service which truly nourishes their needs.

We offer:

  • child namings/blessings/dedications/baptisms;

  • coming of age services;

  • adult batpism;

  • weddings/civil partnerships/same-sex marriages;

  • vow renewals;

  • funerals;

  • and most other 'life event' services.
